Dr. Anamika Dubey Granted Joint WSU-PNNL Appointment

It’s a big year for Advanced Grid Institute’s professor Dr. Anamika Dubey. In February of this year, she gained tenure promoting her to the rank of Associate Professor at Washington State University’s School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Now, she has been named a Joint Appointee of WSU and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL).

Dr. Dubey specializes in control and optimization of electric power distribution systems with a special focus on the integration of grid-edge technologies and distributed energy resources. These are areas of vital interest to PNNL and its clients and align closely with the Biden administration’s priorities to modernize and decarbonize the country’s electric power grid.

Joint Appointees like Dr. Dubey allow PNNL to bridge technical gaps critical to the growth of several high-impact research areas, such as those associated with power distribution systems engineering. Her expanded affiliation with PNNL will be beneficial to PNNL’s current project portfolio and will enable opportunities for future business development.

“We are thrilled Dr. Dubey is bringing her extensive knowledge and expertise to PNNL,” said Jeff Dagle, Chief Engineering Officer at PNNL and Co-Director of AGI along with Dr. Noel Schulz, “Dr. Dubey has been a key collaborator in several PNNL-led research projects. Her contributions have allowed PNNL to meet significant project milestones and breakthroughs.”

Dr. Dubey has been a professor at WSU since 2016 and during that time has been leading or supporting extensive number of research projects. Dr. Dubey has a prolific publication record, has received multiple awards, and is listed in two patents.

Dr. Dubey joins Henry Huang, Kevin Schneider, Noel Schulz, and Mani Venkatasubramanian as WSU-PNNL Joint Appointees. Joint Appointments are mutually beneficial partnerships intended to elevate the scientific impact and productivity of researchers by leveraging the resources, facilities, and capabilities at both institutions. AGI Joint Appointees bring renowned expertise, thought leadership, collaboration, and leadership dedicated to advancing grid modernization research.
